About Alison and Little Chelly Cakes

I have been baking cakes for my family for years. Apparently they are quite good so I have decided to share them with you lovely folk. I bake all my cakes and treats at home in my kitchen at Dale Grange Farm in Chelmorton, which is just outside the spa town of Buxton in Derbyshire.

 

I am a country girl at heart and love to support local producers so I use locally sourced ingredients in all my baking (more on where these come from can be found on my blog). For those ingredients that can't be found on my doorstep I source fairtrade and ethically produced items wherever possible.

I specialise in buttercream and ganache wedding cake decorating which allows me to pack loads more flavour into your cakes to make them even tastier. I love working with swiss meringue buttercream as its so light and silky and not as sugary sweet as standard buttercream. It's also great for creating texture or smooth lines so whatever your wedding style I can create a cake that is uniquely yours.

I now mainly focus on making fabulous creative buttercream wedding cakes but where time and availability allows I can also make birthday and celebration cakes. I'm sorry but I no longer make fondant/novelty cakes or make fruit cakes.
