Hello! What a glorious couple of weeks we have had, the sun is basking in all its glory and I have a garden full of Bluebells, one of my favourite flowers and its so nice to be able to sit outside of an evening and soak up all those rays!
I have had a busy few weeks with cakes and developing my business including this website and blog! I'm no writer and don't profess to be any good at blogging but I thought it would be a great way to keep in touch with all you lovely folk.
I am really looking forward to growing my little business and will be blogging about the journey as I go, keeping you up to date with events, happenings, new suppliers, and my lovely cake clients along the way. I can't wait to get creating some beautiful wedding and celebration cakes over the summer months so keep if you want to keep in touch why not subscribe to my blog. Speaking of weddings it would be rude of me not to mention the small wedding that went off at Windsor recently! I have to say I thought Meghan looked beautiful and I loved the simplicity and elegance of her wedding dress, but TBH I was more interested in what the cake was going to look like....and here it is!
Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes in London made a quite simply stunning cake for the happy couple and their guests. I love the fact that simplicity and elegance ran through into the cake style to create a modern yet beautifully styled cake for the bride and groom. Sadly though I have also seen some uncalled for criticism. Anyone who thinks this cake wasn't up to 'Royal' standards clearly doesn't know how much love, care and attention to detail we cake makers put into each and every one of our cakes. Claire has done all us small time cake makers proud and really championed the simple beauty and amazing taste of buttercream cakes....it's the future for wedding cakes if you ask me! So well done Harry and Meghan for choosing a beautiful cake and well done Claire for creating such a masterpiece!
If you were inspired by the royal cake and would like a modern, contemporary wedding or celebration cake of your own then get in touch and we can get creating together! #yourdayyourway #buttercreamcakes #weddingcakeslessordinary #communityovercompetition
